PhD Students and independent researchers with low budget have to face incredible difficulties when they plan to perform fieldwork, specially if they work on Audiovisual Social Sciences. During this articles series about filming and recording fieldwork, I will refer to Audiovisual Social Sciences as AVS, trying to include as much as possible all the different disciplines that use directly or indirectly this kind of work.
This series come as an extension of my own experience and practice recording with my iPhone 6s as a low cost production for my PhD Project on Urban Sociology. Here we will review the different add-ons and gadgets available on the market in order to upgrade this utility and explore all the different possibilities that this popular device offer for social and human researchers.
We will follow the American Folklife Center suggestions and the suggestions found on Enhancing Fieldwork Learning Using Mobile Technologies by France, Derek (et al.) ISBN 978-3-319-20967-8
